Idle Thoughts

What might be the driving force to most of us, seems to be worthless
and unimportant in the long run. For the things that we cling to today, may be gone tomorrow. There is no such thing as the accumulation of things that can quench our insatiable longing to find true meaning in our lives.

We came from one life force. The ONE? the WAY? some of us refers to IT
as God? the Supreme Being, others call it oblivion or complete nothingness. It was the void from which we came and to it shall we return. For we are indeed empty, coming from nothingness and yet we are everything there is in the universe.

Union is the primary longing in our lives, there are times when we
want to be something we cannot explain. In some weird sense, we want to
make something out of our existence. Some strive for achievement, fame,
power and glory while others use people to tell and to affirm them who they
truly are.

For indeed the self is illusionary. There is no distinct self in each
one of us. We are part of a whole - a conduit of forces and energy that
took this form, in our case the human body. If you watched the movie
Powder, it will strike a chord of familiarity in you. In the movie, a
pregnant woman was struck by lightning before she gave birth to her baby, and it turned out that the baby that was born was unlike anything they have seen before? He was energy personified. So, what if, all of us are like Powder? Imagine that each one of us is a child of this Life Force that binds us all. But this Energy took many forms and thus, achieving beauty and harmony dispelling the void that was before.

If I may quote a passage from the Tao De Ching ”Thoughts and emotions
are not what constitute reality but our reaction to it.” We are much more than the sum total of our talents, energies and spirit. Our true nature cannot rival even our wildest dreams. Our destined state we forget. By living day by day, we lose our divinity, our true essence. We believe that we are what we do, we are what we accomplish, and we are what we accumulate and possess. But we are truly so much more and to even begin to measure the width and breadth of possibilities for every human being is indeed unimaginable.

So what do we do? How can we be acquainted with who we truly are? The
answer lies in just two words: JUST BE. Life is what happens while we are busy doing other plans.” as John Lennon once remarked. And that is so true. We looked at the past with much regret, we see the future with so much uncertainty and fear, while we often than not neglect the present moment. We just let the moment pass us by, without even noticing it.

Enjoy every moment. For this is truly a gift. Even the angels looked
down at us with envy, for perfect as they are, there is nothing truly
wonderful as living, learning, falling, and of course crying. Our humanity, our spirit, the gift from one Omnipotent being for which we are part of is what will push us through every disappointment, every heartache and regret we have in our lives.

For every tear we shed, for every pain we feel, there is an extra inch
of growth in our spirit that will make us BIGGER and BETTER that what we were before - SOUL GROWTH. And what fosters this growth? Tears, sweat and blood that water the spirit and make it grow to make us strong and whole.

In the long run, we will all return to the Oneness of the Universe and
thank the Lord that we were given the opportunity to be an individual. But as blissful a state it might be at times, we all want to return to our oneness, to our union with the ONE TRUE LIGHT.
