Lez in Drag...

When it was confirmed that I was going to be a reader on Mark and Consi's wedding (yep, I recited the Love is, love is verse), I already asked permission from the bride (Mark) if I could wear a suit. Waaahh, Mark was adamant that I should wear
a dress! I don't know why but he wanted everyone to dress his/her biological gender. The guys that read the first reading and responsorial psalms are gay men and I was the second reading... so, kabaklaan talaga ang wedding! :)
I digress, so me on a dress... while I was still in Minneapolis I was racking my brains and also my friends there to find me a dress. Gerry bears, Manang Let, Lilipot and Mommy joined forces to help me find the elusive dress. I found myself inside a gown with too much sequins. Que horror! I was already ready to faint. I was not successful on my search at the Mall of America.. but we had a hearty meal at hooters that day.. yum!
Fast forward, a week later... my plane landed in Manila and it's now 2 weeks before the wedding. Again, via ym, I begged the couple to let me wear a suit instead of a dress. Mark said yes but I sensed that I am going to disappoint the couple if I don't let my inner Antonette out (the female one). So, eating my pride, I called the ex, the perky one to help me find a dress. I told her .. just point and then I'll wear it. The perky one helped me pick a dress, and I tried it on. Perfect! Not that girly, structured,hayyy.. I think I am going to pulled this off after all.

The day of the wedding, another travail... hair and makeup! Haggard!!!! I have a newfound respect for girly women who put makeup everyday. The stylist made okray, hindi daw pantay kilay ko. sorry po... hindi daw ako sanay magmakeup kasi parati akong pumipikit while he put on mascara.. waahhh.. .moi? Mascara? anak ng talaga!
I put on the dress and I saw myself in the mirror. OMG.. is that me? I look like my cousin hahahaha! I also put on 2-inch heels (at the end of the day, I was walking barefooted outside of wack wack) and I wasn't able to get my fill at the dessert table because I can't stand up! hahaha =p
During the wedding, I felt that I was a mascot. Kasi naman, last kong nag-ganitoh, prom night ko pa. But I had fun dressing up in drag.. hahaha.. But, but, inside that dress.. I still was Anto... I was wearing Hugo boss perfume and bench briefs :) I ran out of panties! hahaha =p
So, yep, I was wearing a dress but I had briefs on :) ha!
Till my next drag show.. :)
AMEN!
