Lez in Drag...

When it was confirmed that I was going to be a reader on Mark and Consi's wedding (yep, I recited the Love is, love is verse), I already asked permission from the bride (Mark) if I could wear a suit. Waaahh, Mark was adamant that I should wear
a dress! I don't know why but he wanted everyone to dress his/her biological gender. The guys that read the first reading and responsorial psalms are gay men and I was the second reading... so, kabaklaan talaga ang wedding! :)

I digress, so me on a dress... while I was still in Minneapolis I was racking my brains and also my friends there to find me a dress. Gerry bears, Manang Let, Lilipot and Mommy joined forces to help me find the elusive dress. I found myself inside a gown with too much sequins. Que horror! I was already ready to faint. I was not successful on my search at the Mall of America.. but we had a hearty meal at hooters that day.. yum!

Fast forward, a week later... my plane landed in Manila and it's now 2 weeks before the wedding. Again, via ym, I begged the couple to let me wear a suit instead of a dress. Mark said yes but I sensed that I am going to disappoint the couple if I don't let my inner Antonette out (the female one). So, eating my pride, I called the ex, the perky one to help me find a dress. I told her .. just point and then I'll wear it. The perky one helped me pick a dress, and I tried it on. Perfect! Not that girly, structured,hayyy.. I think I am going to pulled this off after all.
The day of the wedding, another travail... hair and makeup! Haggard!!!! I have a newfound respect for girly women who put makeup everyday. The stylist made okray, hindi daw pantay kilay ko. sorry po... hindi daw ako sanay magmakeup kasi parati akong pumipikit while he put on mascara.. waahhh.. .moi? Mascara? anak ng talaga!

I put on the dress and I saw myself in the mirror. OMG.. is that me? I look like my cousin hahahaha! I also put on 2-inch heels (at the end of the day, I was walking barefooted outside of wack wack) and I wasn't able to get my fill at the dessert table because I can't stand up! hahaha =p

During the wedding, I felt that I was a mascot. Kasi naman, last kong nag-ganitoh, prom night ko pa. But I had fun dressing up in drag.. hahaha.. But, but, inside that dress.. I still was Anto... I was wearing Hugo boss perfume and bench briefs :) I ran out of panties! hahaha =p

So, yep, I was wearing a dress but I had briefs on :) ha!

Till my next drag show.. :)

Hello, it's me!

It's been awhile since I have shared something on this space about my thoughts and my life. Well, where do I start? Maybe just like an old good friend, I will try to give you some highlights on the past years when I was not blogging.

The biggest thing that happened to me so far was I got my Australian citizenship. I know right? I know that it may not be a big deal to others but for me, this is something that I have tried to work on for the past 5 years.  My kababayans might say that I am ungrateful, but we cannot discount the fact that with a blue passport from a country like Australia, I can travel to many countries - visa free without immigration officers trying to catch my eye and check if I am planning to do something illegal on their country.

No offense, but every time I stand on the immigration line going into another country, my heart always work double/triple time because I am too anxious to be deported back to my country even if I know that I have the proper visa.

Baby boom

The first time we settled here in Melbourne we got to know a lot of fellow Pinoys who are living on a different environment. We joined them in making Australia our second home. In each gathering, we try to get to know them better and reconnect.

We didn't know how it happened. But after 2 years, suddenly each couple had their own babies. Don't get me wrong, babies are cute but it was just surprising to note that parties suddenly turn into an event similar to family reunions back home.

Instead of blood relatives, you get to see friends and their kids grown before your eyes. It's not the gray hair that makes me feel old.  It's the babies and kids that are now walking and developing into little adults.

I can't complain. For some reason, it is good for now, to look and enjoy kids from afar. It's fun to carry them for a few minutes compared to living with a baby 24/7. It must be hard. I really commend couples with kids and having to work for a living at th…
Family Vacation - Dec 2013 - Davao

In my 30+ years of existence, we never had a family vacation outside of Luzon. Last December 2013, mama, my bro and I went to Davao to "train" mama to ride a plane. I think she liked it and it's going to be the first of many travels for her.

I miss them but I am looking forward to our next adventure! :)
